Having a rich hair density for all of us is of one the most desired beauty aspects for both men and women. Healthy, shiny & well groomed hair instantly ups one’s glam quotient. Healthy hair is also easier to maintain and can be suitably groomed to accommodate various hair styles.

Roots of Hair Fall
One of the most common concerns when it comes to hair care is preventing ‘frequent hair fall’ . While some amount of hair fall is a natural process but if it occurs in excess it causes distress. Thinning of hair and hair becoming scanty indicates a malnourished scalp and eventually may lead to baldness.
Hair Cycle
Hair grows in groups of 1 to 4 hairs called hair follicles hair follicles.
We are born with all the hair follicles we will ever have in the scalp(approximately 100,000).
Hair follicles replenish themselves by going through three phases, the Anagen phase, Catagen phase and Telogen phase, known as the hair cycle.

Hair Loss
Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually doesn't cause noticeable thinning of scalp hair because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when this cycle of hair growth and shedding is disrupted or when the hair follicle is destroyed and replaced with scar tissue.
If follicles fall out at tremendous rate is called as Alopecia in Medical Terminology.
Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp. Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness. Some people may cover it up with hairstyles, makeup, hats or scarves. And still others choose one of the treatments available to prevent further hair loss and to restore growth
Hair loss causes

1. Medications
Sometimes doctors have hair loss. Most people in the population know that chemotherapy drugs are hair loss, but dozens of other drugs can reduce the hair. These include anti-thyroid drugs, hormonal treatments (such as birth control), anti-convulsants (for epilepsy), anticonvulsants, beta blockers, and many others. These drugs form the telogenic eflavium, which can lead to the rapid withdrawal of the hair, a large number of hairs suddenly resting from the leisure phase (known as the alloy), and new heights begin to grow.
2. Sickness or medical conditions
Endocrine (hormone) conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or thyroid disease may interfere with hair production and hair loss. People with lupus also lose hair. Hormone imbalance in polycystic ovarian syndrome can cause hair loss in teen girls and adult women.
3. Alopecia irata
This scalp treats hair loss on the skin and sometimes heals other parts of the body. This kind of 1 auropepsis in 50 people at some point in life will get this type. Scientists believe that Alopecia Isata is an autoimmune disorder and the hair follicle is damaged by the immune system.
Alopecia shear usually begins with one or more small, round bald patches. They are bigger. In a small number of cases, the person loses all the hair. Both boys and girls can get it, and it often begins in childhood. Hair usually grows back within a year, but not always. Sometimes people with Alopecia arrests lose their hair again.
4. Hair Treatments and Styling

Treatments used by chemicals such as hair color, bleach, straighten, or perms break hair or break down temporarily. When you use too much heat on your hair (such as hot iron or hot blowing drying) may happen at the same time. Another type of baldness that goes with hair styling is permanent: Wearing your hair in a style that is very strict, can be called traction aromacy. Traction Aromasias hair follicles will permanently destroy if you wear a style that you have long stretched on your hair. Ask the stylist to recover if you're getting your hair style and it hurts, it's no longer painful. Pain is a sign of more traction on the hair.
5. Poor nutrition
Eating a healthy healthy diet reduces hair loss. Some people suffering from anorexia and bulimia have lost their hair: it increases the body's protein, vitamins and minerals. Vegetarians lose their hair if not enough protein is available from meat sources. And some athletes have a higher risk of hair loss because they are more likely to develop an iron-deficiency anemia.
6. Disrupt the hair growth cycle
Some major events can temporarily change the hair growth cycle. For example, having a surgery, going through a traumatic event, or having a serious illness or suffering from a high fever, can deliver the baby and temporarily remove large amounts of hair. Since the hair on our heads may actually take months to increase, there may not be any disruption of the hair growth cycle for a few months after the event that has been set up. This type of hair loss can be corrected.
7. Trichotillomania
Trichotillomania is a mental disorder in which people often pull out their hair, often leaving yellow patches. It can leave different lengths of bald and damaged hairy places. Whether TrichotilloMania is classified as a habit or an obsessive-compulsive disorder is still unclear, this is the ultimate outcome. Over time, the bald spot develops. If the habit is stuck, the hair usually revolves, but with high and chronic tricholomulonia, the scarring of the skin can lead to permanent hair loss in affected areas! Those with trichitolmonia usually need help from therapist or other mental health professionals before they stop pulling their hair out.
8. Linear bald or adrenergic alopecia
In adults, the most common cause of hair loss is androgenic. It is sometimes called male or female-like baldness. This condition occurs in conjunction with a person's genes and hormones and androgens. This kind of hair loss can sometimes start mid-teen years. It also occurs in people who take steroids, such as testosterone to build their bodies.
9. Pressure
Any physical trauma surgery, a car accident, or serious illness mental stress (such as death in the family), the flu may also cause temporary hair loss. Acute stress usually sends the body to shock, which can cause flooding with various hormones and metabolites. It can stimulate the hair type called telogen erlivium. Hair is a Progress Life cycle: growth phase, rest stage and removal phase.
10. Infection
Although many infections have led to hair loss, the most common pandemic that affects skin and hair is ringworm. Do not let yourself cheat the name: Ringworm is actually caused by a fungus. Tinia Capitis, as it is more scientifically known, causes mold-like fungi called dermatophytes, which are caused by thriving and rare hygiene in warm, moist conditions. This affects children more often, at any age.
11. Tight breasts or lock-back hair
The reason for this is probably a bit more relevant to women, but men also wear hair in tight braids (such as dreadlocks or maize) or hair loss (such as in a ponytail) to pull back the hair loss loss or medically known trauma alopecia. This is caused by long-term pull of hair, which can eventually lead to hair loss, mostly in the hairline. This usually occurs in African women, which wears on the skin for a long time on the skin

  1. I might have missed it but I don't see stress listed as a cause of hair loss. Major stress can definitely cause hair loss and extra hair shedding.

  13. This post is very interesting as I am experiencing a lot of hair fall in a day most specially when I shower. Coming from a tropical country, it has been my habit to shower every single day and use shampoo and conditioner all the time. This I think contributes a lot to the volume of hair loss I get in a day. Thanks for sharing this post!
